General
A very popular stock image used by many brewers.  The image gives multiple opportunities for branding, from the barrel type of object in the back, to the mug and of course, the rim.  The Buffalo Brewing Co. version is especially eye catching with the red text on the rim.  Note that the image was used beyond trays - see tin sign examples below.

HD Beach re-established himself in the tin sign and tray business within 6 months of his departure from Meek & Beach.  Initially he purchased Ginna & Co, an established tin can manufacturer in New York, while rebuilding a state-of-the-art tin lithography plant in Coshocton, OH.

This tray may have been produced at the Ginna facility while the Coshocton plant was being constructed.  Ad text was most frequently placed on the large column behind the workman, followed by the rim.  A few brewers also had text placed on the mug he is holding.  This only seems to occur in the oval shape, although there are a few examples of an oval image on a tin-over-cardboard (TOC) sign.  This is the only rim style that occurs.  There are a couple of post-pro uses, one by Consumers Brewing with a sort of “cartoonish” version of the workman, and a smaller sized tray by Leinenkugel that’s probably form the 1970s or 1980s.
