This tray was given to employees at the Fox Head Waukesha Corp. Christmas parties during the 1930's.  Pretty racy for a Christmas party.

This and the next tray have the exact same fox head image with different backgrounds and rims.  The term 'Fox Head "400" Beer' was in existence from 1946 to 1962 and the tray is Fox Head Waukesha Corp. on the tray which concluded in 1946, so we believe the tray to have been release in 1946.  Please contact us if you have better information

The thought might be that trays from the 1940's might be pretty common, but given WWII was underway, they were not.  Metal moved to the war effort and as a result production slowed significantly and common trays were often sacrificed to the metal drives of the time.  These are quite attractive in your hand, so they may have been spared from the drives and hidden away for us to enjoy in our collections.

This logo corresponds to a bottle label used by Fox Head in the late 1940's.   This tray was definitely issued after the two more detailed fox heads above as the brewery name change is reflected as Fox Head Brewing Co. in small print at the bottom of the tray - see below.  We do not know what '48 - 12' references, but certainly it might be 1948 - December.  Please contact us if you have any additional information.

Not technically Fox Head, but made sense to capture here since they were a WI Distributor representing both Fox Head and Braumeister beers.  Our guess is the phone number '49' may be a clue to the actual city, but to date we have not been able to determine its location.  Please reach out if you have any additional details.
