Comments: A fairly simple Lone Star Tray. Not exactly sure on this date, so y'all help me out here with and e-mail.You see this one every once in a while, but often they are in pretty bad shape. High humidity down in Texas takes its toll. Didn't drink a lot of Lone Star growing up in Texas as it most often gave me a headache. My preferred beers were Pearl, Shinner and Coors (especially when it had to be imported from Colorado and stored some place cool). In college I do remember taking Friday afternoon trips with my roommate (you know, the good Babtist boy from Houston - he drove and I drank - if his mom is asking) to the Lone Star distributor. We would get a couple of cases of beer and have a few samples from the keg which was always at the ready. Now this was not a glamorous place, just a metal building, but they were always friendly and the beer was always cold. This was also in the days of real returnables, so we had several of the heavy duty boxes with the flip in lids to transport back and forth. Still have Christmas decorations and stereo wires packed away in a few of them. Lots of good memories about Lone Star. I loved their advertising campaign about the giant armadillo in the late 70's. We used to find road kill and make sure they had there own Long Neck. Also remember Lone Star being featured in the movie Urban Cowboy and me and all of my friends immediately switching to other beers. Another fond memory - Red Stegal's song 'Lone Star Beer and Bob Wills Music'. Wow I am getting thirsty for my Long Neck Headache!!!
