Sabinas
Brewing Co. San Antonio, TX |
Comments: Here is a rare Texas piece. Sabinas eventually turned into Lone Star Brewery. The tray is a stock tray, with a twin advertising Travis beer. Travis, I am assuming, is named after John Travis, one of the participants at the Alamo. This tray is not in my collection. Another collector contacted me about it and I thought it would be O.K. to include it in the site until I got my paws on one.Check out a comparison of the two at this link. | ||

Tray Trivia Answer #6: Lore has it, that in 1939, the Sabinas Brewing Co. went out of business. The purchaser of the old brewery and equipment started a new brand - Lone Star. |
