Comments: Another great, highly sought after PA tray. This one is a lot lighter in color than I thought it was going to be. The luster on this particular tray is incredible. It has a couple of rust bubbles which have been arrested, and a few slight scratches, however other than that this baby is CLEAN. I was contacted by Dan K., who I met at the Gray and Blue Show earlier in the year and we came to agreement on this great tray. Dan specializes in advertising tip trays. I look forward to a tip tray site from Dan, as he has some excellent items in his collection. Frey's appears to stand for the last name of the brothers who owned the Mauch Chunk Brewing Co. (John and Monroe Frey). I am assuming Jim Thorpe is from the town formerly known as Mauch Chunk. I can just see the city counsel meeting when they were discussing the name change. Posters might have read - "Leave our Chunk alone!" or "Why not Thorpesville?". Oh well enough - it is an awesome tray and I am proud to have it in my collection. | ||
